Best Dam Championship, No Matter What It’s Called

As usual, the championship race for the Heart of America Triathlon Series will take place in mid-September in Coralville. However, there is a new look this year for the final race in our series.

The Heart of America Championship will take place at Iowa’s Best Dam Triathlon, September 16 on the Coralville Reservoir Beach. The race will feature both Sprint and Olympic distances.

The Sprint race will be the Heart of America Championship race. Top HOA finishers in each age group will start in a special Championship wave, and will compete for free entries into next year’s HOA races.

“The Olympic distance will be a regional qualifier for Collegiate Nationals next April,” says race director Jenna Voelker.

Several members of the organizing committee belong to the UI TriHawks Club, but the race is not affiliated with either the University or the Club.

Jenna and her committee promise a challenging, competitive and fun event for 2012 and into the future. Watch this site for the latest on Iowa’s Best Dam Tri Tri or visit IowasBestDamTri.com for more info or to register .
